On September 30, the Economic Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv hosted an international scientific-practical conference ‘Accounting, Control and Taxation in a Globalized World’ within the framework of the 2021 EFBM Second Forum ‘Changes. Adaptation. New Economy’.
The Forum brought together leading experts from various fields, including specialists from the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, NBU, Bloomberg, UNIT City, CFA Institute, Nord University and other.
Tetiana Yatsyk, Kreston Ukraine Audit Senior Manager, was invited as a speaker to the panel discussion on ‘Cryptoassets as a new object of accounting and auditing’. On July 9, Tetiana defended her PhD thesis on ‘Accounting for control and taxation of transactions with crypto assets’.
Crypto assets are the new global economic phenomenon which requires comprehensive research. Today there are more than 12 thousand different types of crypto assets, the total market capitalization of which has exceeded 2 trillion US dollars.
On September 8, 2021 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved the Second Reading of the Bill No. 3637 ‘On virtual assets’. It regulates the cryptocurrency industry and allows owners of such assets to legally exchange and declare them. And international cryptocompanies are allowed to register a blockchain business in Ukraine.
